New Lisbon - Lourdes Route
Ryanair, Europe’s No.1 airline, today (11 Jan) launched a new route connecting Lourdes to Lisbon for summer 2019, which will start in April and operate twice weekly. This new Summer 19 route comes in addition to the previously announced new Lourdes - Dublin Summer 2019 route, which is on sale at Ryanair.com. Both routes are additions to Ryanair’s Summer 2019 Lourdes schedule, which will see it operate a total of 6 Summer 2019 routes, including routes to London Stansted, Krakow, Milan Bergamo and Rome.
Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrenees Airport, managed by EDEIS, and local authorities are delighted with this new route announcement which responds to a strong demand and concretizes a project initiated several years ago. This new service to the Portuguese capital is a continuation of the strategic project "Lourdes, Carrefour Mondial des Pèlerinages", which aims to improve the accessibility of Lourdes and the Pyrenees by linking them to European cities and major Marian sites, including FATIMA in Portugal. This route will interest both the Portuguese traveling to Tarbes-Lourdes and the Pyrenees, South Americans touring European pilgrimage and spiritual sites and the important Portuguese community of the Upper Pyrenean territory. Lisbon is also a real "tourism niche" to visit for a long weekend or a week; it ranks as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, thanks to its rich and varied history, vibrant nightlife and excellent climate. Its bright colours, from the yellow of its tramway with its red roofs, to its azulejo facades, make it a romantic and endearing destination.
