Owing to the specificity of its traffic, 80% international and concentrated on the pilgrimage to Lourdes, Tarbes Lourdes Pyrénées Airport has made considerable efforts to provide facilities to guarantee the comfort and problem-free travel of the able bodied and disabled alike.

Assistance and Specific Facilities

Assistance to disabled persons and persons of reduced mobility is the airport's undeniable strong point. With the help of Hospitalité ND de Lourdes (www.hospitalite-lourdes.com)), specially trained intervention teams take care of both individual passengers and groups alike.

This service (which is completely free of charge) provides efficient and appropriate amenities for unequalled service quality:

  • 30 free parking spaces reserved in the car parks in front of the terminal;
  • Direct and full accessibility to walkways and aircraft;
  • Specific lift trucks for boarding and disembarkation;
  • Suitable rest rooms on each level, with attending nurse and certified sanitary amenities;
  • Gently sloping ramp to allow access to specifically sized lifts leading from one level to another in complete safety;
  • Conventional wheelchairs and specific chairs allowing access to the seat in the aircraft.
Wheelchair passengers travelling alone

Numerous free parking spaces are reserved as close as possible to the terminal. Tarbes Lourdes Pyrénées Airport provides call terminals at the entrance to the short-stay and long-stay car parks.

In the car park:

To take advantage of the assistance service, simply signal your presence at one of the call terminals at least 2 hours before departure and someone will make himself known to you to help you and ensure that your check-in procedure is problem-free.

Inside the terminal:

  • Amenities and conveniences provided in the public area and departure lounges;
  • Signposting with easily recognisable pictograms;
  • Lifts systematically incorporated in the various routes to simplify your journey from the car park to the aircraft;
  • Various desks provided which can be accessed by everyone.
Special cases

Although admission to aircraft for passengers suffering from a motor or sensory condition is not, in theory, subject to any particular conditions of acceptance, it is nonetheless essential that you inform the company in good time so that the passenger may take advantage of the services provided.

In order to prevent any danger of jostling, the passenger is given priority boarding.

Passengers suffering from temporary invalidity or persons who have difficulties moving around may also take advantage of the airport's assistance service.
